Indian College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (ICOG) is the academic wing of The Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI). FOGSI is the professional organization representing practitioners of obstetrics and gynaecology in India. With 262 member societies and over 37,000 individual members spread over the length and breadth of the country, FOGSI is probably one of the largest membership-based organizations of specialized professionals. As of 2021, there are 1850 Fellows (FICOG) & 189 Members (MICOG). ICOG also confers Honorary Fellowships to Foreign luminaries every year during the convocation and at present we have 31 doctors awarded Honorary Fellowship.
The College will be actively involved in National Family Welfare Programs and will advise Fellows to actively associate and cooperate with Central and State Government Health authorities and corporate bodies in implementing all national programmes of Family Planning including training of paramedical and health personnel.
The aims and objectives of establishing the College are to promote education, training, research and spread of knowledge in the field of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Reproductive health, Family Welfare and related areas.
The vision of Indian College of Obtetricians & Gynaecologists is to strive for advancing standards of education and quality healthcare practices throughout India. The college encourages safe and ethical obstetrical & gynaecological practices for patients’ satisfaction. With the onset of the online platform the College hopes to fan out its reach to other South Asian Countries and to position the college as health care leader for training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, by providing evidence-based training to update and refresh the skills of all Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
